WHY SHOULD I HAVE MY WEBSITE ON A CD ROM?

  • My hosting service made a mistake and took my site down, and they dont have it on their daily tape back up, because I caught the mistake the next day
  • I lost all my website files due to a virus on my computer, and they are not recoverable
  • I tried to upload my website files by FTP and the extensions are all wrong on all my JPG's so all my pictures are broken
  • I made a mistake when I uploaded a change to my website and I didnt have an old page on standby to correct the change, I hit save and I'd like to have the old page back.
  • I moved my website to another hosting service and I want a guarantee that my website will be intact in the transition
  • Someone else on my server had a web based virus and now my database is corrupted
  • I wish to have a backup of my entire site, I backup everything else, why not my website?
  • I wish I could just cut and paste my html right back into a certain page to return it to normal

 
 

Here is my testimony of what this means to me:  I requested a domain be parked because I was not using it, (www.808aloha.com)  and the hosting company (www.apollohosting.com)   made a mistake and took a working commercial website down (www.808fish.com) and I LOST the whole site! 

I asked that they put it back up right now, and they started to ignore my emails.  Well I guess you know what happened next, I had to move my   website(s) to a different hosting service. During that move I downloaded the sites via ftp, and was ready to transfer. 

Little did know that my pictures had the .jpg extensions changed to .JPG so all my pictures were broken, due to all my html had the .jpg 's in all lowercase. What a nightmare!  all this happened during my busiest time of the year, and I had to get my site back up and running, if my customers saw  that my site was down, they would never come back or SHOP with me!  My site is so huge that it took 2 days of sitting at the computer 10 hours each day, I have better things to do on the weekends than sitting at the computer for 20 hours!
